What this covers
This policy explains what we collect to run the ExplorerUK membership and Command Hub map, how Stripe and cookies fit in, and your rights under UK GDPR.
We collect what we need to run a paid map for members. Pins and comments you post are visible to other members. Stripe handles card payments. We use AI to help moderate content. We do not sell your data or run ads.
What we collect
Account
- Email — login, receipts and important account messages
- Password — stored as a hash; we cannot see the original
- Subscription status — active, pending, cancelled, and renewal date
Payments (Stripe)
- £0.99 a week, billed by Stripe
- Card details stay with Stripe, not on our servers
- We store a Stripe customer ID so membership can be linked to payment

Command Hub contributions
These are visible to members:
- Map pins, titles, descriptions and photos
- Lane comments (closures, surface, gates, TROs)
- A display name or initials taken from your email
Optional location sharing
If you turn on Find Friends, other logged-in members can see your live position until you turn it off. We do not collect location unless you enable that feature.
How we use it
- Run login, membership and Stripe billing
- Show your pins and comments on Command Hub
- Moderate spam and abuse, including with OpenAI
- Send essential service email (receipts, password reset, important notices)
We do not sell data, rent it, or use ad pixels such as Google Analytics or Facebook Pixel.
Cookies
We use a session cookie so you stay logged in. Stripe sets its own cookies on checkout. See also the cookie note.
Your UK GDPR rights
- Access a copy of your data
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account (dashboard → delete account)
- Receive data in a portable format
- Complain to the ICO

Security
The site runs over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed. No platform is perfectly secure. Report issues to security@exploreruk.com.
